White-lipped Snake
The white-lipped snake is an olive to red brown colour or a pale or dark grey with a predominant white band on their lips to their neck. Their range is from the highlands NSW and into Tasmania. They are the most cold withstanding snake going into high altitudes where most other snakes can’t survive. They are abundant where tussock grass dominates the undergrowth. Skinks cover about 80% of their diet but they will also eat small mammals, frogs and skink eggs.
