Tiger Snake
The Tiger Snake has a flat head with large black eyes. Their scales are smooth and really glossy. Their colour varies a lot. In SA they are mainly black and patternless. The snakes from Tasmania are black to a yellow. The snakes on the mainland are brown to olive. Also like their colour their size varies to often to do with what prey is available. On Chappell Island they eat seagull chicks and get to 1.5 meters in length. The Tiger Snakes on the Eyre Peninsula eat small skinks. The mainland snakes eat birds, lizards, frogs and mammals. They live in southern Australia and when threatened will flatten themselves into a striking position.
